Who this website is for

Ontario Grouse Hunting is a guide to Ontario upland hunting trips and featured camps. The website is managed through Due North Marketing. It provides general trip-planning material and links to lodge websites and official resources. It does not sell hunting licences, take lodge bookings or receive payment for camp stays. Contact the lodge directly about its services, dates and terms.

Your privacy

This website uses Statcounter for visitor statistics. It has no newsletter signup or visitor account system and does not ask you to submit personal details through the site. Ordinary hosting logs may also record technical request details such as an IP address, requested page, time and browser details for site operation and security. Hosting arrangements may differ between this preview and the live domain.

If you contact Due North Marketing or a featured camp through an external website, that recipient handles the details you provide under its own policies. Send only what is needed for your enquiry. Please use the contact options on Due North Marketing's website for questions about this site.

Statcounter visitor statistics

Statcounter loads automatically near the bottom of every page. It helps us see which pages are visited and how people reach this website. Statcounter may record visit time, page URL and title, referring link, IP address, browser, operating system and screen details. It uses cookies to help distinguish new and returning visitors and estimate unique visits. Its own privacy and cookie policies describe these records and visitor controls.

The Statcounter script loads without waiting for the reminder banner to be clicked. An image counter is also included for visits where JavaScript is disabled.

The banner is a reminder only. The Got it button closes it and saves an acknowledgement in your browser's local storage so it can stay closed on a later visit. It does not turn Statcounter or embedded services on or off. You can reopen the notice from the footer or remove the saved acknowledgement through your browser settings.

Fonts, page graphics, maps and video thumbnails are served with the website. Statcounter and the embedded players are outside services and have their own policies.

LodgeStream and YouTube players

LodgeStream loads automatically near the bottom of every page from OntarioFishing.ca. That embedded page loads its own lodge films and may contact video and other service providers. Those services can receive details such as an IP address, browser details and the page request, and may use cookies or browser storage under their own policies.

The four films on our grouse videos page start with local thumbnails. Pressing Play loads a YouTube player using its privacy-enhanced embed address. Once loaded, YouTube handles the player and its own cookies, storage and related requests. You can also open each film directly on YouTube. The video's creator remains responsible for the original film and description.

The privacy notice on this site does not block LodgeStream or change YouTube's settings. Browser privacy settings and the embedded providers' own controls apply to those services. Read the linked service policies on the provider's website for details.

The three featured camp placements are promotional listings. Their website links lead to separate sites with their own privacy and booking policies. Official-resource links also lead away from this site. Visits to this website are measured through Statcounter; the camp websites have their own tracking and privacy policies.

Current camp details, prices, policies and availability should be confirmed with the operator. Images of featured camps show those camps and are not evidence of the scenery or services at every region described on this site.

Hunting guide notes

The guides provide general preparation advice. Hunting dates, limits, licences, access and other rules are set by the relevant authorities and can change. Use the linked official sources to confirm the requirements for your actual species, place and trip dates. The rules guide shows its check date.

Regional pages do not grant land access or identify unchecked public hunting routes. Get land permission when required, follow area restrictions and respect current preserve and park boundaries. The site is not a booking guarantee or a promise of bird numbers or hunting results.

Updates and contact

These notes apply to website version 1.9, dated October 13, 2026. For site questions, use the Due North Marketing website link in the footer. For a trip enquiry, use the featured camp's own website. If you spot a rule or factual detail that needs a fresh check, send the page name and the item so it can be reviewed.

From the grouse notebook

A few facts worth knowing.

  • A name from the neck feathers

The ruffed grouse is named for the neck feathers it can spread during a display.

  • Stillness is a defence

Spruce grouse may remain motionless and rely on their feather pattern to avoid notice.

  • A flexible feeding tool

American woodcock use a flexible bill tip to grasp earthworms in the soil.
